Searching for Our Next Minister

Jeff is retiring!

​Jeff announced at service on Sunday, November 12, 2017, and made it official at the Board meeting the following Wednesday, that he will be retiring effective August 31, 2018. While he will miss working and being with people of the Pastoral Charge and community he is looking forward to spending more time with his family and doing more cycling, hiking and paddling.

Joint Search Committee (JSC) Progress and Report

June 1, 2018
The job advertisement has been revised and distributed for posting. Interview roles have been assigned to the committee members.

May 25, 2018
The JSC has revised its job description and advertisement and will meet again when applications have been received.

May 1, 2018
JSC met to review applications.

April 22, 2018
The JSC are awaiting applications from Bay of Quinte Conference personnel. This week the committee finalized the interview questions, which will be submitted for Conference approval.

April 8, 2018
The JSC met this week to refine the interview questions. The committee will meet again in two weeks to begin reviewing applications.​

March 4, 2018
The JSC is happy to report that the job advertisement for Pakenham Pastoral Charge has been posted on the Bay of Quinte Conference and St. Andrew’s websites. The JSC met this week to determine a matching criteria to use when reviewing applications.

February 25, 2018
This past week the JSC met to reflect on and discuss biases we may bring to the search and selection process. We considered the ways our biases are shaped by society and our churches. Taking the time for this conversation will help us to fairly assess the applicants and the needs of the churches in the future.

February 15, 2018
The JSC met with a representative from Conference for interview training on Feb 15th. The committee will meet again next week to begin working through the process that was shared in the training session.

February 1, 2018
The Joint Search Committee met for the first time on Thursday, February 1, 2018. The group spent some time getting to know each other before beginning the work of the committee. Linda Lowe was elected as the Chairperson and Angie Giles as the Secretary. Terms of how the committee will function and general questions about the process were discussed. The Committee will next meet on Thursday, February 8th.

January 28, 2018
​The first meeting of the JSC will be Thursday, February 1 2018 at 7 pm.
In preparation for this meeting members of the committee have been reviewing the Search and Selection guidelines and other information provided by the committee's Presbytery representative Eleanor Rintoul.
The JSC will provide updates after each meeting.
