Rev. Sheryl McLeod
Minister

I discovered The United Church of Canada as a child, when a notice was sent to schools letting us know of a junior choir that was beginning at the local church. There I discovered God and community and continued exploring my faith through Sunday School, Youth Groups and community organizations.
I heard the call while studying nursing. While not ready to begin this particular journey of faith, I continued to explore faith and discipleship through my work as secretary/treasurer of Almonte United Church and as office manager of Stewart House. Twenty years after hearing the first call, I heard the call again and began to discern my call through community and through studies. I was ordained in 2011 after completing my studies and while in appointment at Admaston Pastoral Charge; and settled in Admaston Pastoral Charge.
This relationship was over twelve years long and just recently ended. I am delighted to accept a call with Pakenham Pastoral Charge. It is my hope that I learn as much, if not more, from you as you learn from me. I look forward to our time together.

Suzie Walden
Pastoral Charge Administrator
613-624-5400
[email protected]
Suzie is overjoyed to join the Pakenham Pastoral Charge team and feels surrounded by beauty and warm community. She has met extraordinary volunteers, Church members, and staff who share the values of caring, compassion, and hope.
Suzie was born in Montreal and is fully bilingual. Her family moved many times for her father's business. She attended college, attained a Travel Agent Diploma and Private Pilot License. She fell in love, married, and has three grown children. She is very proud of her children who attended university and college and now work in jobs they enjoy. They get together often and use technology to stay connected.
Suzie has provided administrative assistance and support or bookkeeping for accountants, auditors, lawyers, travel agents and a physiotherapy and health centre. Suzie has volunteered with Scouts Canada, at a school, and an orphanage in Mexico.
Suzie moved back to the Ottawa area, where she found love for a second time. She again pursued flying but was grounded due to health issues.
During her month-long training she became very fond of Nancy and wishes her the best in her new adventures.
Suzie is excited to provide support in her new role as Administrative Assistant for the Pastoral Charge and grateful to work with an amazing team.
